The ordinary reference. History, industries and technology as the Sphere understands them — the articles anyone can look up, maintained by people whose names are not on them.

It is dull, mostly accurate, and the first place a character looks. Reading it costs time and knowing what to ask for, and nothing else.

Sections

  • Lore — history, doctrine and economics: the apogee wars, Convergence, the Quorum, the Labour Question
  • Industries — the markets, described as industries rather than individual companies
  • Technology — how the hardware behaves and what it forbids

This is the account, not the event. What is filed here is what people believe and can look up. It is widely taught and sincerely repeated, which is not the same as being correct.
