TerraMech Industries
A planet turned into a factory. TerraMech builds the machines that do the work nobody wants to do — which makes it the third answer to the Labour Question, and the only one nobody argues about.
Overview
TerraMech makes heavy machinery and industrial robotics at a scale that required its own world. Terra-Forge — Mars — is not a planet with factories on it; it is a factory with a planet inside it, smog to the horizon, orbital smelters in a permanent ring, and jungle-domed lowlands grown to feed the shift population. Forge Secundus is the younger, hungrier copy, built because the first one filled up.
Its product is loaders, haulers, cutters, walkers, and the automated arms that fit on all of them — Tier 1 and Tier 2 machines, clever and nobody home, and that is exactly the specification. TerraMech does not build minds. It builds the thing you buy instead of one.
The company is enormous, slow, and institutionally incurious. It is not cunning the way AstraCore is cunning. When TerraMech wants a thing concealed it does not construct a clever story — it issues a short statement in flat commercial language and stops talking, and the statement holds because nobody has the appetite to push a company that size for a second sentence.

Where it stands on the Labour Question
TerraMech is the quiet beneficiary of the ban and is never counted as a side.
Every argument in the Sphere is between incumbents who own Instanced stock and challengers who want more of it. TerraMech sells the alternative to both. A world that cannot buy artificial people buys a great many machines instead, and the restriction that everybody is fighting over is the reason TerraMech's order book has never contracted.
They lobby for nothing. They fund nobody. They have never once been named in the debate, and their position is the most comfortable in it.
Relationships
- Orion Dynamics — the only comparable heavy manufacturer, and the boundary between "industrial" and "military" is a legal fiction both maintain carefully
- Weyland Corp — TerraMech's largest customer. Continuous infrastructure work at planetary scale consumes machines the way other industries consume fuel
- Erebus Mining Group — everything Erebus pulls out of a gravity well, it pulls with TerraMech equipment
- Lumen Freight & Trade — moving TerraMech's output is a non-trivial fraction of all mass in transit

Status
The largest industrial base in the Sphere, expanding steadily, and holding a position in the Labour Question that it has never had to defend because nobody has noticed it has one.
