Media, VR, and celebrity — and the Feed, which is how the Sphere finds out what happened. Karael almost never prints a falsehood, because it has never needed to.
Overview
Karael owns attention. It runs the dominant public net feed, the entertainment industry that feeds it, the immersive VR market, and the celebrity culture that makes all three self-sustaining. Its holdings are the pleasant ones — Halcyon, a garden world that is the corporate elite's playground; Sable Station, the casino-and-vice hub in orbit above it; Emberlyn, a perpetual-autumn retreat; and Hark, the relay tower that pushes the Feed out past where anyone else bothers to broadcast.
The Feed is accurate in its facts and dishonest in its framing. That distinction is the whole company. A Karael story will survive a fact-check line by line and leave the reader with a false impression, and this is not a failure of journalism — it is the product being delivered to the customer, and the customer is not the reader.

What it sells
- Placement. Whoever pays Karael most this quarter receives the kindest coverage. This is not a scandal; it is the rate card
- Omission. The most valuable thing Karael offers is the story that does not run
- Attribution. Work done by an independent crew is credited to Ironveil or to "authorised security personnel"
- Escape. VR, celebrity, spectacle — the reason the audience keeps showing up for the rest of it
Character
- Media, VR experiences, celebrity culture — the Sphere's memory and its distraction, from one building
- Never lies outright, and would be genuinely offended by the accusation
- Bias follows the money, transparently enough that anyone paying attention can read the balance sheet off the coverage
- Nobody's enemy. Karael has no enemies because it has no positions — only advertisers
Relationships
- AstraCore — carriage and content. AstraCore moves the traffic Karael produces, and each is the other's largest single dependency. Cordial, mutually resentful, structurally married
- Sebastian Oduya — AstraCore platforms him; Karael covers him. He is content, and content performs
- Ironveil Security Solutions — receives credit for other people's work as a matter of routine editorial practice
- The Harbingers of the Guide — enormous audience, reliably respectful coverage, no advertising spend required. Karael has worked out that the congregation is the market
- Every corporation in the Sphere — as advertisers, which is to say as editors
Status
The most powerful corporation in the Sphere at determining what is true, and the least interested in whether anything is.
